Ingredients
  • Spaghetti pasta (8 ounces)
  • Eggs (3)
  • Bacon (6 slices)
  • Parmesan cheese (1 cup)
  • Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Parsley (for garnish)
Steps
  • 1

Step 1 Cook the spaghetti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • 2

Step 2 In a large skillet, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it cool. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  • 3

Step 3 In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and a pinch of salt together until well combined.

  • 4

Step 4 In the same skillet used to cook the bacon, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  • 5

Step 5 Add the cooked spaghetti pasta to the skillet with garlic. Toss the pasta in the garlic and oil mixture until well coated.

  • 6

Step 6 Turn off the heat and add the whisked egg mixture to the skillet. Quickly toss the pasta with the egg mixture until the eggs are cooked and the sauce thickens.

  • 7

Step 7 Add the crumbled bacon to the skillet and toss to combine.

  • 8

Step 8 Serve the carbonara pasta hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese, if desired.
